Influenster Venus® Snap with Embrace Review

After a recent hiatus on my blog, I am back! School has kept me pretty busy, so sorry for the lack of content. In this review, I will let you know all about the Venus Snap mini razor (solely my opinion).

For starters, check out that rad plaid tablecloth! Onto more serious business, here is what the mini razor looks like. It is included in a convenient, blue plastic flip container. The back of the blue container also contains a few perforated holes to help air out the razor after use and prevent rust. I do enjoy the design of this case.

Voila, the mini razor! This handle is incredibly small, which is great for me since I have small hands, but honestly I found it to be a little too small. The grip is large enough just for a couple of fingers, but if you want to be more precise to avoid injury, you might want a bigger handle.

The razor included with this "starter version" is a Venus Embrace, the most basic, simple Venus razor out there. Now, this is also the cheapest of the refill blades. (I noticed how they skimped a little...)

Personally, I did not like the razor overall. It is a nice concept, but over the years, the quality of Venus razors has slowly declined. I find they do dull faster, and I am more prone to getting razor burn even if I use shaving cream. These little razors are also quite pricey-spotted on Amazon for $10.61. The kit does NOT include refill blades, much like most Venus razor starter kits. So, if you are short on space or if you seriously miss a few stray hairs all the time, this item may be for you.

NYC HD Color Trio from the Jolly VoxBox Review

Eyeshadow isn't really my thang, but I decided I would give it a whirl for the sake of my VoxBox tasks! ;D Shown below is the Central Park Plums palette. In my VoxBox, I got the Long Beach Sands palette, which has a more natural tone.

Here is what Influenster says about the HD Color Trio:

"HD Color Trio Eye Shadow delivers high intensity color with a silky soft texture. This lightweight formula blends effortlessly for the ultimate smoky eye look."

One thing I really liked about this product was the fact that the instructions were included. Most make up products have little to no instructions, and most of them don't include pictures, so it was nice to know NYC cares! Instructions for the eyeshadow are as follows: Step 1. Apply the highlighter (the top color) to the browbone and inner corner of eye. Step 2. Apply the second shade all over lid. Step 3. Blend the medium shade (third color) into the crease.
This eyeshadow was difficult to apply. The colors do not stick to your lids very well and the colors are not strong. You need to apply a lot of product for a bolder look. The palette is a bit chalky.

Final Rating: 4/10
Where to Buy: CVS, Walmart, Drugstore.com
How Much: Prices range from 2-3 dollars
